Aquatics on Summit Lake
The 35-acre Summit Lake at the heart of camp provides great boating opportunities for Scouts – including sailing, canoeing, kayaking, rowing, and stand-up paddleboarding! The Waterfront is also home to exciting aquatic activities – including swimming, a waterslide, key-log rolling, giant inflatables for climbing, and more!
Climbing Tower
Tuscarora Scout Reservation features a 40-foot, three-sided climbing and rappelling tower. Scouts can come for afternoon open climbs or earn Climbing merit badge in special evening sessions.
Eagle’s Nest
This program area helps Scouts on the trail to Eagle develop life skills with several Eagle-required merit badges – including communications, the citizenships, and more.
Handicraft
Handicraft focuses on a wide-range of crafts and trade skills. The area lets Scouts build skills in basket making, leatherworking, wood carving, and more.
Music & Arts
This NEW program area lets Scouts showcase their creative sides with a wide range of merit badges and programs that allow them to create, perform and express themselves.
Nature
Our Nature area lets Scouts investigate the natural world. The area offers a variety of ecology and conservation based merit badge and programs.
Range & Target Activities
Tuscarora’s shooting sports programs provide opportunities in archery, rifle, and shotgun shooting. In addition to merit badge instruction, the area offers daily open shoots for Scouts and leaders.
Scoutcraft
Scoutcraft is the place to develop and showcase your outdoor skills – including camping, cooking, pioneering, orienteering, wilderness survival and overall outdoor living.
Sports & Games
Camp is full of fun recreation activities – including gaga ball, mountain biking, a basketball court, a kickball field, fun-filled game nights, and ample fishing on Summit Lake.
Trailblazer – First-year Camper Program
Trailblazer is Tuscarora’s first-year camper program. Throughout the week, Scouts will build skills and have fun while completing requirements for the ranks of Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class.
Your Camp Home
We offer 12 “summer” sites with two-person canvas wall tents on platforms and 3 “winter” sites with eight-person lean-tos. Campsites also include communal areas with in-site latrines, carports, picnic tables, and fire circles. Tuscarora features a modern individual-room shower house, a central dining hall that provides three delicious meals each day, and an enthusiastic and experienced camp staff that will make your unit feel at home. Each summer is filled with new programs and activities designed to peak the interests of every Scout – from the newest campers to the seasoned veterans.
