Our council is truly blessed with two great camps that have a lot to offer your scouts. We are excited and hope that your unit will strongly consider visiting one of our TWO AMAZING CAMPS in 2020 and beyond.
Camp Barton is located in the Finger Lakes of New York State. An amazing area with gorges and waterfalls. Located on the second largest lake in New York, Camp Barton is your Aquatics Destination with Jet Skis, Water Skiing, and Intro to Scuba all in one location. Cayuga Lake normally has a water temperature of 70 degrees during the summer. Our camp has a 40 foot waterfall on property where you can cool off and enjoy some down time. Our Sidney Winter First Year Program is a full day program, which balances Merit Badges and Rank Advancement. Meals are served Family Style in our 1930’s Dining Hall, which is full of scout history of all the Troops before you. Bring a plaque with your Troop to add to our collection in the Dining Hall Rafters. Camp Barton offers 45-50 merit badges a week, which should give everyone something to find.
Tuscarora Scout Reservation
Tuscarora is located in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains at an elevation of 1800 feet. Warm days and cool nights will make you gather around the campfire and relax after your day. We offer a well-rounded program including the Trailblazer First Year Program and Handicraft Lodge for younger scouts and our Climbing Tower, Mountain Biking, Mountain Boarding, Stand Up Paddle Boarding, Shotgun, and Eagle’s Nest Merit Badge area of older scouts. Our spring fed lake averages 72 degrees during the summer. Or enjoy a hike on 14 miles of trails around our 1200 wooded acres. Tuscarora offers 45-50 merit badges a week as well as several independent study badges on the side.
