To be "trained", National requires all leaders to take:

1. Youth Protection Training

This is mandatory training for all adult leaders, and it must be completed annually !

2. Position-Specific Training for your registered position, such as:

Cub Pack Leaders -- Den Leader, Cubmaster (or Assistant), Committee Member, etc

Scout Troop Leaders -- Scoutmaster (or Assistant), Committee Member, Merit Badge counselor, etc

3. Scoutmasters / Assistant Scoutmasters must also take IOLS (Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills)

Note - For Cub Packs to go Pack camping or Webelos Den camping, at least one BALOO-trained leader (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation) must accompany the Pack or Webelos Den.
