The 2010 VFW Wood Badge Scholarship Program was created especially for Veterans of Foreign Wars members who are active in Scouting. Three national scholarships will be provided for each of the four regions. The scholarship provides the course fee for the seven- to eight-day training program. The recipient must provide transportation to and from the course training location. Once the scholarship recipient has successfully completed the course, the council is to send an invoice for the course fee to Volunteer Development Team at the national office. Upon receipt of the invoice the council will be reimbursed the course fee. The Veterans of Foreign Wars strongly supports the Scouting program and a substantial number of its members are actively involved in Scouting. The VFW Wood Bade Scholarship Program assists these members in obtaining training that will better prepare them to serve youth. The application should be completed in accordance with the instructions thereon, and must be postmarked no later than March 31, 2010 to: Volunteer Development - S209, Boy Scouts of America, P.O. Box 152079, Irving, Texas 75015-2079. If additional applications are needed, please contact me @ 972-580-2211.
