Winter Unit 5
The Center Lodge is shared with all units renting lean-to's in the site. The site is primitive in nature; there is no running water or electricity. Water is available via a hand pump, and although tested yearly, should be treated before drinking. Do not bathe or wash dishes under the pump as this will result in contamination of the well. Troop trailers ARE NOT permitted in the site. Vehicle traffic is highly discouraged as the conditons are usually muddy and even a four-wheel drive vehicle can get stuck. Please park all vehciles and trailers in the clearing above the site. Cell service is limited at best. This unit will provide an excellent primitive setting for teaching many Scouting and wilderness skills. Our Wilderness Survival class is conducted on this site during summer camp. This is a carry-in, carry-out campsite. A Scout is clean.

Note: All facilities are completely closed to visitors during the first and second weekend of hunting season. Typically, this season spans the end of November through the beginning of December. If you are interested in visiting Tuscarora at this time period, please call the Camping Secretary to ensure that the weekend when you would like to come is not during hunting season.
Note: The fireplaces in the Center Lodges are not functional.
