  • The twelve points of the Scout Law are the governing rules of Camp Barton. All Scouts are expected to follow their Oath and Law, and to Be Prepared, mentally awake and morally straight. Physical strength is desirable (especially for troops in campsites up the hill), but not required.
  • Check-in starts at 1:00 PM Sunday of your week at camp. Troops may check out any time after the Friday night retreat, or on Saturday morning (recommended). Saturday-night stay-overs may be arranged in advance for troops staying two weeks, or out-of-council units who would rather arrive Saturday. Meals are not served on Saturday after breakfast, or Sunday breakfast or lunch, and camp staff is not available over weekend stays.
  • Pre-camp meetings: Troop leaders should plan to attend the pre-camp meeting, which will be held on Tuesday night, a week before your troop is due to arrive at camp. The meetings will be at the Camp.
  • Medical Forms: All Scouts and leaders are required to bring a current completed medical form to camp.  A Scout or leader cannot be accepted for participation in camp activities unless the form is on file. The medical form will be reviewed by the Camp Health Officer - note that an Immunization Record is required by New York State regulations. Contact the council office for copies, or download a copy from the council website. Photocopies are acceptable. 
  • Health And Medical Insurance: Every Scout in the Baden-Powell Council is covered by an Accident and Sickness insurance policy. Out-of-Council units attending Camp Barton are required to carry accident insurance, and a copy of the unit's policy or a statement of coverage must be given to the Camp Director on arrival.
